I made the assumption moving forward that the issue had to be caused by something small. The question was just what! I couldn't believe that synaptics could make such an aweful touchpad that was incapable of actually working. but to no avail.įrom the onset, some sort of physical problem seemed to be the most logical conclusion. I installed every driver pack I could find, modified them, turned off driver signing in order to install the OEM drivers, used Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Ubuntu etc. I finally concluded that it had nothing to do with ESD and moved on to possible driver issues. At first I thought it was ESD and troubleshot that for a few days. Perform regular scans and it should never happen.Like you I have been having all the same touchpad issues. Once removed and your system rebooted, your mouse should work perfectly again. That’s easy to tackle with a full malware and antivirus scan. There are a few pieces of malware that cause the cursor to jump around as a side effect of their nefarious tasks. Stopping this function will slightly alter how responsive your mouse is but you soon get used to it and adjust. Usually, this setting dials in your mouse so it is much more exact when in use. Then, select the Pointer Options tab and uncheck the box next to Enhance pointer precision.Next, select Additional Mouse Options from the center.Right-click the Start button and select Settings. Let’s see if it’s causing problems with yours. It works perfectly well on some computers and can cause issues on others. There is specific setting in the mouse configuration screen that is known to cause cursor jumping in some situations. If you disable the wrong one, use Ctrl + cursor keys to select Device Manager and scroll through the settings to enable the mouse once more. Repeat until you only have your actual mouse left in Device Manager.Identify the mouse you use and then right-click and select Disable device on the others that appear in your list.
